USF is one of only 25 public universities nationwide that holds both “very high research” and “community engaged” designations by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

This combination creates a learning environment where you can actively participate in the discovery of knowledge. “Our renowned faculty generates nearly $400 million in contract and grant-sponsored research each year, which translates into more opportunities for you to participate in meaningful scholarship as early as your freshman year.”

Tampa Bay is an area that encompasses three counties and is "home" to over 2 million residents. It has the largest performing arts center in the southeast; the largest science museum in the south; and the cultural arts district in downtown Tampa is expanding every day, with the recent addition of the Patel Conservatory which helps both young and mature actors, artists, musicians and performers perfect their craft. It also has the #1 ranked airport in the country. Tampa also offers a lower cost of living than other major southern cities, including Atlanta, Orlando, Charlotte and Charleston. If you're looking for a great way of life, it doesn't get better than Tampa Bay.
