Facilities

The INTO Centre is situated at Kensington Terrace in the University campus and close to Newcastle city centre, and is home to more than 600 students from over 40 countries.

When you study with us you’ll enjoy full university status, with access to all the University’s teaching and recreational facilities. We also provide a comprehensive range of student support services, helping you with everything from finance and general orientation, to faith and personal issues.

If you’re studying English language, you will learn in modern language laboratories and multimedia suites equipped with SANAKO 300 language-learning software and interactive SMART boards. Academic modules are taught in university-style lectures and seminars, and those studying science subjects will use the University’s science laboratories for practical classes.

Settling in

The INTO Centre will provide a comprehensive social programme to help you settle in to life at university and in the UK. and there are many social events which will help you meet your classmates and other UK students. We also organise regular excursions which enable you to discover the city, region and other parts of the UK. Check out the welcome week video here

Student Services

We aim to ensure you feel as happy and confident during your studies as possible. Should you need to discus any aspect of student life, the University’s student services team are always on hand to help, and can provide guidance on issues such as how to open a UK bank account, managing your finances, and finding places to practise your faith.

Welfare Officer

There is also a dedicated welfare officer at the Centre to offer practical information, advice and guidance on any personal issue that may be affecting your studies. You can either make an appointment with the welfare officer or go along to one of the regular dropin sessions held at the student residences. No matter how large or small your problem may be, there is always someone available to help and advise.  See a video from our Welfare Officer in the left hand column.

Senior residents also live in INTO halls of residence, providing you with additional support outside University office hours.
